Durch das von 1997 bis 2005 am Germanischen Nationalmuseum durchgeführte DFG – Forschungsprojekt zur Nürnberger Goldschmiedekunst hat sich ein lebhafter wissenschaftlicher Austausch mit Museen und Fachleuten in Deutschland, dem europäischen Ausland, Israel und den USA ergeben. Diese Konferenz sollte dem Wissens- und Erfahrungsaustausch in einem konzentrierten, öffentlichen Rahmen dienen und die Gelegenheit bieten, neue Ergebnisse sammlungsbezogener Forschung vorzustellen.

CRM Workshop

The workshop in Nuremberg was mainly dedicated to the discussion of refinements and amendments of the CIDOC-CRM. For 2 years a number of upcoming issues had been collected by the CRM-SIG working group. These issues were concerning improvements in the understanding of scope notes or the used examples in the published Version of the CRM. But there was also an ongoing discussion on issues about structural changes in the hierarchy of the CRM or the need of introducing new classes and properties. Within the preceding workshop held in Edinburgh in 2007 the relevance of those issues had been identified. The workshop in Nuremberg had therefore its main goal in finishing this working process by checking the new scope notes. The outcome of the meeting resulted in a new Version of the CIDOC-CRM.
