Academic advisory board

Function

The Academic Advisory Board advises the museum management and supervisory committees in specialist and interdisciplinary issues and in medium-term research planning in view of the museum’s research profile as well as long-term scientific goals. It regularly comments on the design of the program budget and evaluates the museum’s academic achievements and services in annual audits. Besides the external evaluations conducted every seven years, these audits play a central role in the comprehensive system of quality assurance in the institutions of the Leibniz Association, which are financially supported by the federal government and the state. The Germanisches Nationalmuseum is one of eight research museums in the Association, the others being:
