Holdings

The collection includes more than 10,000 objects, ranging in date from the early Middle Ages to around 1800. Metalwork, medieval bronzes, majolica, faience, ceramics and glass are equally represented in the collection offering a glimpse into domestic and religious life.

Key collecting areas

In addition to medieval treasury art and one of the largest collections of aquamanilia worldwide, the collection is particularly known for its holdings of German silver, faience from southern Germany, and cut glass from Nuremberg.
