This small, specialised collection comprises shackles and fetters, so-called ‘violins’ or ‘shrew’s fiddles’, and metal masks or muzzles (also known as brank’s bridles) as well as other instruments of torture, executioners’ swords, "Leibzeichen" (parts of the body or clothing of a murder victim that were mummified or conserved), judges’ staffs and "Siebenerzeichen" which were used to mark the boundaries of property, along with other tools of the justice system in earlier times.
