Sculpture up to 1800
Contents
With about 3000 objects, including 250 casts, the collection provides an impressive survey of the art of sculpture in the German-speaking world from the Middle Ages up to the Neoclassicism of the 19th century.
Main collection areas
Highlights include the collection of Nuremberg sculpture, as well as sculpture dating from the late Middle Ages and Renaissance. The collection of Renaissance heraldic badges, meanwhile, is impressive for its scope. Another collection focus lies in Baroque sculpture from southern Germany and Austria.
